The NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit, or simply Jetson Orin, the newest member of the NVIDIA Jetson product family, was introduced to the market in the first quarter of 2022, but it was only a few months ago, and only under exclusive conditions, that it began shipping to market. 3RTechnology, an NVIDIA Enterprise Partner in the Baltics, delivered the Jetson Orin Developer Kit to one of its customers in Lithuania back in June.
The customer will perform R&D tasks on Jetson Orin for a new self-driving device under development, which will monitor and analyse the environment using artificial intelligence (AI). Subsequently, NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64/32GB or NVIDIA Jetson NX Orin 16/8GB modules will be supplied for the commercialisation of the product. The latter modules (not the Developer Kit version) are not expected to enter the market until the third quarter of 2022.
Based on the new NVIDIA Ampere architecture, with 2,048 NVIDIA Cuda and 64 Tensor cores, and bundled with a 12-core ARM CPU, Jetson Orin enables robotics and Edge AI developers to have a Developer Kit that is 8x faster than the older generation NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier Dveloper Kit.
The Jetson Orin Developer Kit comes as a small, single-board computer with x16 PCIe Gen4, 10 Gbps RJ45 LAN, x4 PCIe Gen4 M.2, 2 pcs. USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, 2 pcs. USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A,. MicroUSB, DisplayPort, microSD and other connectors for connecting various peripherals. All connectors allow product developers to implement and test various product variants and scenarios.
